You can always add to and expand your site when it matures. So, make a clear plan of what you want on your site and try to stick with it in the start. Write down a list of what kind of information, different functions and features your site will have and set the priority in which to build them.

In this stage you also need to investigate and plan how you are going to make money with your site. Investigate into different affiliate programs and see what programs that has products or services that fit with your site concept. You will find affiliate programs for any kind of niche.

If you do not find affiliate programs that fit with your site concept and your niche looks difficult to profit on, you need to evaluate if you chose the right niche. A money making opportunity that can fit almost and kind of niche, is Google’s Adsense program. Google will then display small ads on your site and you get paid every time someone clicks on them. Maybe your site concept is suited to have an online shop within it. Include these money making possibilities in your planning already now, and then when the traffic starts building up, you are ready to implement them. You need to have that clear if you are going to succeed.
