Being an Affiliate

Affiliate programs can be a great way to generate revenue. Simply put, being an affiliate means that you are helping to sell a product and making a commission off the sales. For instance, if you have a website devoted to collecting or rebuilding cars you would want to advertise automotive products on various pages of your site. When your visitor clicks the ad and buys the merchandise, you get a commission as an affiliate. You’ve been rewarded for driving traffic to the advertiser. If the advertiser is also paying you for the ad on your site you double the revenue from that ad!

Some affiliate programs are multi-tiered and have enormous potential for earnings. These programs recruit you, the webmaster, to endorse a product and give you commissions on the sales you make. If the sales generated from your site result in those consumers selling to others, you also make a percentage on their sales. This is called a “downline” and can be quite extensive.

Multi-tiered affiliate programs can be virtually endless. The one sale that’s made from your site could go one to sell to several others, who in turn sell the product, etc. with everyone sharing in the commissions. The purpose, of course, is to produce multiple sales, repeat sales and keep adding people to your downline. Essentially, your downline is doing most of the work.

Affiliate programs can be a very good source of revenue for a webmaster. Be careful, however, that the company you align yourself with has a good reputation for actually paying their affiliates and providing good products or services.

The affiliate programs we are referring to are web hosting affiliate programs that can be offered individually by the web hosting company and or an affiliate program like Commission Junction.

You will need a hosting service most likely for this feat, so check out the hosting reviews to find a site to start advertising your affiliate services.
