Britain’s Plans to Stop Internet Piracy Thwarted – For Now

ISP’s in Britain will no longer be made to disconnect users when found to be downloading illegal matterial, namely music and video files repeatedly. Culture Secretary, Andy Burnham, stated that the government had“serious legislative intent“, however, this did not come to fruition. Basically, it all comes down to a numbers game. Can you really make an effective effort to put a stop to more than 7 million file sharing internet users around the UK every year? The idea was to have a 3 warning procedue in which, if the offence were to be committed multiple times, the users internet connection would be shut off.
