The New Green Village

Posted by technology-blog on 14 Nov

First it we termed it "The Global Village", now turn you head folks to the the Green Village. With the evolving IT technology, more and more companies are putting their R&D dollars into GREEN and I don't mean money. This is the way of the future. Move over Information age, we are heading straight into the "green age". The world is always indirectly affected by what man decides to do, so lets put a little more into making it a better place to live. How cliche, but it's true. With rising energy costs and property getting expensive we see a real need to make things more inexpensive, so two birds with one stone? True enough, cheaper = more sales, but at least this time, this also helps our enviroment.

Windows 7 Better than Vista?

Posted by technology-blog on 12 Nov

From what the developers at Microsoft are saying, this one is supposed to be better and aren’t they all supposed to be as Version 7 is the next gen? Well, it’s not supposed to be a ram hog like Vista, therefore faster processing times. From articles over the internet, the different is minor at best and is definitely nothing to jump out of your seat about and will probably not be worth the time and effort to buy, install and or upgrade Vista, whereas Vista is reported to be between 35-45% SLOWER than XP, a lesser version of itself. What’s going on Microsoft? This just means new drivers, new components and a whole lot of wasted time for literally nothing.

Employee Busted for Trying to Steal Trade Scecrets!

Posted by technology-blog on 12 Nov

In this day and age, either companies are getting more resourceful or if you can do it the old fashioned way and get away with it, why not? Recently, a design engineer for Intel was caught and charged for siphening about $1 BILLION dollars worth of trade secrets from his company and diverting them to rival chipmaker, Advance Micro Devices (AMD)! Biswamohan Pani is charged with 5 a five count indictment for hacking into Intel's system and downloading confidential documents containing highly classified trade secrets. After FBI investigators found more than 100 classified documents and "13 top Secret files" containing R&D for future processor technology Pani thought he could move this information to rival AMD. The information he apparently got a hold of is believed to be related to Intel's next-generation Itanium microprocessor, says ABC News Pani had resigned from Intel in May, but stayed on payroll till mid-June, but he told his superiors that he was looking at other job options without telling them he actually accepted a job at AMD. The man thought he was smart because he was on both companies payroll during this time. Then he goes on to mention that he wasn't going to do anything malicious and that he was going to give the documents to his wife who ALSO works for Intel. Ya right. Pani, if convicted would expect to receive a maximumof 10 years in prison. Bear in mind that AMD claims to have no knowledge of this act and is co-operating with special agents on this case.
